I have little to NO idea of where this adventure will take me; where I'll be at any given moment, what I'll be doing or for how long. What I do know is that I'm traveling around the US hoping to better engage and experience God. My hope is to meet new people, try new things and ask good questions. The great joy in doing this is not merely in the doing (although I'm convinced it'll be a hell of a lot of fun!) but in the sharing...so here goes nothin!
Here I come Amurrrica!!!

CalTrain
Traveling is good for people. I’m convinced that as much as
it benefits our worldview and or cultural awareness, as much as it challenges
us or affirms things in us, as much as it’s fun or adventure filled…it’s also a
chance to remind ourselves what it feels like to look stupid! (sometimes a much
needed ego ass whoopin!) Whenever I travel to new places I always have those
moments when I feel incredibly incompetent or just completely dumb! For example today
me and Makenna were trying to catch a train to downtown San Fran but we were
having trouble finding the ticket station and so when the train was pulling in we had to start running which is also when we realized we were on the wrong side of the tracks.
(and as luck would have it, you can’t simply cut across, you have to run all
the way around). We run past a man dressed
in a biking uniform, who was nice enough to laugh behind our backs. When we
reached the end of the station the railroad crossing signs go down and we see a
HUGE sign for a 271 dollar ticket for whoever goes across while bars are down.
We count the trip a bust and turn around and begin to walk back when the biker
man yells….”THEY’RE UP!” we turn around and the bars are up, so we start
running again! We cross the tracks and make it to the other side RIGHT as the train
blows its horn and rolls past us. All that’s left when the train passes is the
biker man on the other side of the tracks laughing hysterically. Well I guess
if nothing else we gave the guy a good laugh. (not to mention we got our
morning run in!)
